The Windows application and the browser extension are not hosted anywhere: they
run entirely on the user's device. Installation files are distributed through
GitHub, Inc. (88 Colin P Kelly Jr Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, United
States).

## What the service does

Korr is a spelling and grammar checker for French and English. **All text
processing is local**: it happens in the browser or on the user's computer.

No corrected text is ever sent to a server, because no analysis server exists.
This claim is verifiable: the source code is public.

## Intellectual property

Korr is free software released under the **GNU General Public License version
3.0** (see the `LICENSE` file). Anyone may use, study, modify and redistribute
it under the terms of that licence.

The service relies on third-party components, under their own licences:

## Personal data

Korr collects no personal data. Details are in the
[privacy policy](PRIVACY.en.md).

The website uses **no cookies** and **no analytics**. Only browser local storage
is used, to remember two display preferences (interface language and text
language). These never leave the device and disappear when the user clears
their browsing data.

## Liability

Korr is a writing aid. Its suggestions may be incomplete or unsuitable for the
context: **users remain solely responsible for the content they publish or

### Note on mandatory disclosures

The publisher operates as a sole trader. This is a **professional activity**:
the exemption from disclosing one's identity, available only to non-professional
publishers, does not apply.

Article 6-III-1 of French Act no. 2004-575 of 21 June 2004 therefore requires
the following to be directly accessible from the website:

- the publisher's first name and surname;
- their full address;
- their telephone number;
- their company registration number (SIREN);
