# Privacy Policy - Korr

## In one sentence

Korr does not collect, transmit or store personal data. Text corrected with
Korr never leaves your computer.

## Data processed by Korr

When you request a correction, the extension reads the selected text or the
content of the active text field. The bundled grammar engine processes it
entirely inside your browser, then replaces the original text with the result.

This processing is local and temporary. The text is not written to disk,
stored in a database or transmitted to a server.

## Settings stored on your device

The extension uses the browser's local storage only to remember:

- websites where you enabled the correction button;
- the selected language mode (automatic, French or English);
- the selected writing style.

These settings remain on your device and disappear when the extension is
uninstalled.

## No internet transmission

The extension makes no request over the internet. There is no remote analysis
server, user account, analytics service, tracker, advertising identifier or
telemetry.

The only optional connection is to `http://127.0.0.1:8787`, which refers to
your own computer. It is used for optional AI rewriting styles when you choose
to install and run the local service yourself. Even in this mode, text never
leaves your machine.

## Why the extension can run on every website

Korr needs access to the text field where you write, whether it belongs to an
email service, a social network or a professional tool. This is why the
extension declares access to `<all_urls>`.

The correction button is hidden by default. It appears only on websites you
explicitly enable from the extension menu. Page content is not read unless you
request a correction.

## Your rights

Because no personal data is collected, there is nothing to access, correct or
delete from our servers. Local settings are removed when you uninstall Korr.

## Source code

Korr is open-source software released under the GNU GPL 3.0 license. Anyone
can inspect the source code and verify the statements in this policy.
